My little tips to maintain a happy mood

A couple of days ago, I saw the first crocuses and narcisses flourishing in the park. People were looking at them and they smiled. Spring is on its way! Yeah!

Flowers can make you smile at times and can boost your mood. I was thinking of my personal ways or moments that can truly keep me in an happy mood. Let me share those with you.

1) Thinking positive- I know, it is not always easy, but remember that there is a good side to everything that happens.

2) Looking at some of my favorite pictures. Good memories always bring a smile on my face. You too?

3) Reading beauty blogs. Love the perkiness of some and the fun sides of others.

4) Doing a at-home facial (face scrub+mask) not only brightens my skin, but my mind too :-).

5) Breathing exercices are one of the greatest way to re-focus and concentrate on the good :-)

6) Enjoying delicious homemade spaghetti bolognese or fish tajine cooked by my Monsieur.

7) Boosting my Vitamin C daily intake by drinking orange and grapefruit juice. FRESH!

8) Giving a quick call to my grandpa who is 99 years old and amazing!

    1.) Going for a nice walk, always puts me in a happy mood.

    2.) Exercising / Gym always a good thing.

    3.) Yes thinking positive, think about the pluses not the negatives.

      Breathing exercices can last for 5 min or 10 min. Make sure you focus on getting a regular and controlled pattern. Your body will be revived and you will fell in control of your emotions/reactions. :-)

  2. Wow, I think it's brilliant that your Grandpa is still going strong at 99. All my grandparents have gone now, I think that's really lovely :) I also love spaghetti bolognese and fish. Very uplifting post, only other thing I might add is playing your favourite upbeat music, always makes me feel better :) x

  3. Deep breathing is DEFINITELY one of my tricks too. At work people know to avoid me if the heavy yoga breathing starts taking place at my desk :)

    I also find a really good cup of tea can help, and if the bad mood lasts more than a few hours then a night out with the ladies is a must!

    I also really enjoy reading blogs when I'm feeling down, I find blogging incredibly inspiring

  4. Personally, I think counting one`s blessings keeps me smiling and in a good mood- thinking of the people you love- family & friends and also doing good to others helps too...having a positive karma!!

    I do think that caring for plants is also uplifting, especially if they are flowering plants!!

    And, another good one would be to give yourself a treat..we`re often overwhelmed with stuff we need to do, chores, work etc and hardly ever get a proper break..hey, we just need to get ourselves that little treat, every so often..which for me, is a new bag or shoes mostly!!!!

      Treating ourselves is definitely a great one. Caring for plants can also be very nice, it requires calm and great attention, so great elements to feel good.

  9. Breathing exercises are long proven to have great mental and physical health benefits - I started singing lessons as a teenager to help with my breathing (I am asthmatic) and I was amazed at how calm and relaxed I felt after each lesson / practice.

    As an adult I am in love with Yoga for the combination of stretches; concentration on the moment and breathing for relaxation.

    A cup of tea always helps if I'm feeling down, as does avoiding self-pity (often hard but good to recognise and avoid). I have also found that having given up alcohol completely my mood has been calmer and more controlled - it is a natural depressant after all :)
