Garnier organic eye make-up remover

I love make-up. I am a real Madame :-).
I also love a good face cleanser and a good eye make-up remover. It is very important for me to daily clean face/eyes to ensure a superb skin in a long run.

I am always on the hunt for excellent eye make-up removers. I tend to like a non-oily one (I do no like greasy feeling around the eyes at all). I also prefer having a distinct product for the eyes rather than using the one to cleanse my face.

So today, I will be talking about an eye make up remover I have been using for a little while.

Product description: Garnier BioActive Moisturising Eye make-up remover
Certified: Yes (Ecocert)
For: Sensitive eyes
Presentation: bottle
Texture: water-like
Price: 4.50€ for 150ml

My opinion

Eye areas are one of the most fragile part of the face and really need care and  softness. Garnier eye make-up remover uses  two gentle botanical Bioactives, aloe vera and glycerin, in its composition to soothe, calm, and moisturise the eye area.
The cleanser do not have any particular smell, so great choice if you are an allergy sufferer or if you are just a bit reluctant to "fragranced" products.

The product do not contain any parabens and is preserved by benzoate acid, benzoic alcohol, and potassium sorbate (mild agents, though it may depend on the respective concentration).

If you are looking for a budget and natural eye make-up remover, this one will do.

Easy to use, I usually apply on a cotton pad a few drops of Garnier product and leave it for a few seconds on the eye lids.

The cleansing is good but the efficiency is not 100%: I need to massage a few times with the cotton pad to remove any eye-liners or dark shadows....which is quite a let-down for me.
Another critic would be that the real amount of organic ingredients is actually quite low unfortunately despite being certified.

Overall rating: 5.5

Product composition: Water, glycerin, Aloe barbadensis juice powder, arginine, benzoic acid, benzoic alcohol,  caprylyl/capryl glucoside, Crithmum maritimum extract, potassium sorbate, xanthan gum.

The composition is quite minimal which is good and best for sensitives eyes.

This eye make-up remover is actually part of the natural face range launched by Garnier in various european countries such as France or Belgium. I am still quite unsure about the aim of such a big company to develop its natural beauty range. Is it to just entering the "organic" world and grab a bit of market or is it a genuine interest in the field?

Have you tried it? what do you think? what do you use for your eyes?

Tips to prepare for the summer...

Despite being in June, the weather has been quite unsettled over the last few weeks.
Never mind, let's remain positive and hope that sunshine and long warm evenings are ahead of us.

I thought I could list some of my favorite b e a u t y and l i f e s t y l e tips to get ready to the fantastic summer season:

1- Get plenty of seasonal fruits/veggies (strawberries, mangoes, grapefruits, tomatoes, concumbers, courgettes, aubergines, asparagus, olives...) from local producers or natural shops.
I love the veggy corner of Whole food market (www.wholefoodmarket.com) or Harrods (www.Harrods.com) shops, but I also love strolling in local street markets in London or Amsterdam.

2- Why not trying some simple yet innovative summer dishes? Bring on colors, sunshine, and healthy nutrients in your plates with some delicious mediterranean salads or tapas!
For more ideas, check this website www.mysimpledish.co.uk, I love it!

3- When weather is slightly hotter (but also in "normal days"), try to maintain your hydration body level by drinking a lot.
Green tea, fresh fruit-infused water, or simply spring water with a touch of lemon juice are great alternatives if you are a bit bored of tasteless water.
Often love to freshen up with Fiji water (www.fijiwater.com) or an homemade mint-infused water.

4- Exfoliate (but do not over-exfoliate) face and body with a very gentle scrub. Ideal to eliminate dead cells and get an instant glow.
Some of my favorite products are from Melvita (www.uk.melvita.com) and Logona (www.logona.com).

5- Keep moisturising your skin as it still needs its daily hydrating boost. A lighter cream will do though.
I am still in love with Evolve Beauty face moisturising (see previous post) but I am currently using a very nice face serum that I will be reviewing soon.

6- Bring a shimmering glow to your body by massaging it with botanical oils such as coconut oil or plum kernel oil. Superb results.

7- Always protect your skin with a sunscreen milk/cream with high UV protection. Remember, sun is the first skin ageing factor.
I like Lovea sun range (www.lovea-solaire.fr) or BioBeaute by Nuxe (www.bio-beaute.fr).

8- If it is not already done, reorganize your wardrobes by selecting lighter clothes and storing away winter clothes. Simplify, simplify, simplify.

9- Having more "ME-time".
For exemple, reading may be a great alternative to TV. Have you already selected your summer books?

10- Flower bouquets are excellent in bringing harmony and colour to your living space and are also highly mood boosters. Get yours now:-)

Hope you have enjoyed and get ready for the summer now!

Have you used any of the products/tips mentionned above? Do you have any tips to share with me?

Another announcement...

The past few weeks have been quite busy. As you can imagine, moving to The Netherlands required a bit of preparation and the big moving day(s) are finally over.
Therefore, I did not have the time to write beauty blogs as much as I wished but don't worry, I will make sure to correct that as soon as things are a little more settled.

I also wanted to share another news with my lovely blog readers and Twitter followers: Mlle Nature is going to be mummy again! and this time, we get the choice of the king as a little boy will complete our little family late August.

Hence, more than ever, my liifestyle and daily routine have been highly influenced by " the power of the Nature": green and organic, healthy eating habits and researching what it is best for body and mind.

Are you:

- unsure about your beauty routine?
- unsure about your product use?
- curious about natural beauty and wants to learn/know more?

I can help you :-)... follow my adventures and advices throughout my B L O G or email me.
