Did you say soft lips?

A little while ago, the very friendly people working at Cutecocosmetic sent me a couple of lip balms to test
Having already Pai lip balm as my favorite (click here for review), I am, however, keen to explore other brands :-).
H U R R A W is a small american company from Montana specialised in lip care manufacturing. All lip balms are vegan, handmixed, and great attention is given on ingredient selection (notice that balms are all petrolatum and paraben free) but these are not granted organic certifications.

So, the two lip balms I tested (and still use) are the following:

Moon Balm- a super smooth and rich lip treatment for the night. Its texture is creamy, packed with wonderdul natural plant goodies such as avocado, almond, cocoa, argan and roshehip. When applied on the lips, I feel an immediate relief and repairing effect. Cocoa and shea butter are really nutritious whereas peru balsma is antiseptic and effective in treating wounds. The sweet and yummy scent of vanilla brings a funky and delicious touch to the product. After overnight use, my lips are even softer and long lasting moisturised, so great! I really recommend this stick if you have really dry lips: so effective!

...a highly conforting pillow for your lips! 9/10

Ingredients: Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, Euphorbia cerifera (candellila) wax, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, Argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil, rosa rubiginosa (rosehip) seed oil, Limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, Tocopherols (vitamin E), Vanilla planifolia (vanilla) bean, Myroxylon balsamum (peru balsam) oil, Matricaria recutita (blue chamomille) flower extract.

Orange lip balm- a wonderful scented balm for daily use. Made of butters (cocoa) and botanical oils (olive, sweet almond, castor, jojoba) all known for their soothing and regenerative properties, this lip balm is the perfect bag friend for all year round. The antioxidant vitamin E helps for the preservation of the lip balm but is also excellent in healing. Last but not least, the scent of the lipbalm is quite strong. If you love orange scent, here we go!
If orange is not your cup of tea, a variety of other scents are available. Browse through the Hurraw website for more details: www.hurrawbalm.com

...a fresh yet really moisturising lip balm! 8/10

Ingredients: Prunus amygdalus (sweet almond) oil, Euphorbia cerifira (candellila) wax, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, Citrus sinensis (orange) peel oil, Tocopherol (vitamin E).

Have you tried those lip balms or are you using something else? Let me know!

Face cleansers selection

The end of summer is really really approaching fast. Well...cheer up! a beautiful season is ahead, and  it is a great time to re-think and/or reorganise beauty cabinets and products purchases.

The current post will present you a succinct snapshot of medium price range natural face cleansers that I have tested over the last eight months.

Pulpe de vie "Sweet Little Face"

If you like the revigorating smell of grapefruit, this cleanser is for you. Made in Provence (France) and certified by Ecocert, this foaming cleanser contains gentle natural ingredients such as raspberry and grapefruit water (known for their toning properties). The skin is left purified, cleansed, and soft. I really enjoy the "refreshing" feeling it brings every morning. However, I may not recommend it if your skin is too sensitive or delicate.
150ml - € 13.00

Essential Care "Lemon & Tea Tree facial wash"

This milky yet light cleanser is manufactured in UK and certified organic by the Soil Assocaition. It is ideal for normal to combination skin type. Slightly foaming, impurities and make up are drown away and face is left smooth and soft. Containing antiseptic essential oils of lemon and tea tree and soothing aloe vera, this facial wash is really a great buy! The only little drawback is that the texture is a bit too runny for me and it is a bit hard to control the amount needed.
150ml - £11.00

Yin Ylang "Skin cleanser"

This creamy cleanser associates the softness of a cleansing milk and the efficacy of a foaming product. Blended with botanical nutrients such as coconut oil, witch hazel, and also pH-balanced, it is perfect if you have a normal to combination/oily skin. I massage my face with a small amount and gently rinse it off afterwards (although it is not advised to do as such). I find that my skin is incredibly smooth yet not dry at all. This cleansing cream is aromatised with sweet orange essential oil which brings the " fresh" feeling onto the skin. One of my favorite!
200ml - £13.00

Have you tried one of those? yes? If not, what are your favorite face cleansers?
