Weleda Sea buckthorn Hand cream

Weather has been humid and dull lately (don't tell me, what a spring!) and I found that my hands were dryer and more red than usual. Not really nice!
Hand cream is one of the beauty product that I carry with me all year round and everywhere, although I do not use it everyday. However, this year I nearly did use it on a daily basis!
In this post, I would like to talk about the Sea Buckthorn hand cream from Weleda.

Product name: Sea Buckthorn hand cream
Certified: yes
For: dry hands
Presentation: tube
Texture: cream
Price: £ 7.50

My opinion

Weleda hand cream is a light silky cream full of nourishing plant oils, such as Sesame oil and Sea Buckthorn oil. Only a small amount of cream is sufficient to restore hydration and suppleness of the hands. I really love the fact that the cream is not greasy and is absorbed very easily. These are factors that I consider to be really important for hand creams. It leaves my hands soft and smooth.

Sesame oil is wonderful in regenerating irritated and tired skins. Being very rich in fatty acids and in vitamin E, this plant oil acts a wonderdul cuddle for the hands. Sea Buckthorn oil promotes skin healing and restores elasticity. Sea Buckthorn oil is packed of wonderful antioxidants and phytosterols, which are efficient against age spots, wrinkles, and premature ageing.
The cream also contains beewax. Beewax helps to improve the texture of the emulsion and also acts as a barrier against dehydration.
The amount of alcohol in the cream seems, however, to be a bit high. It may act as a preservative, but alcohol is also known for its drying effects on the skin.
I like the citrus scent of this hand cream. It feels fresh and tonic. Knowing the solid ethical values of Weleda, I was also a bit surprised to see "parfum" in the list of the components. The lovely scent seems to come from essentiel oils as stated on the packaging but I am not entirely sure.

As an occasional treatment, I enjoy using this cream, but if your hands suffer from extreme dryness and redness, I would use a richer cream.
