Since a few months I have put a lot of effort in taking care or my hair. In addition to my weekly hair treat with my Acure hair mask root repair (see review here), I also started using at the end of the summer a serum called the Ceramide enriched desert serum*. The brand? Antonin B, a new french hair line "100% natural, professionnal haircare" based in one of my favorite parisian quartiers St Germain.
Product name: Ceramide enriched Desert Serum
For: colored or dry hair
Price: £32.00 for 20ml
The Desert Serum with ceramides falls in the category of hair products I really love and need and want. Targeted. Powerful. Highly concentrated. Effective.
The silicon-free serum stands out by its really impressive composition. It contains an amazing blend of 9 precious oils, which are super rich in fatty acids, that deeply repairs and conditions. The main ingredient, and one that I have not encountered that many times in beauty products, is the Desert date oil. Used for its really regenerative properties, the cold-pressed Desert date oil is known to feel really luxurious without feeling greasy. The second very exciting oil is called Abyssinian oil, an ultra-light oil praised for softening properties. And then you can find a blend of an amazing cocktail of super nourishing pure nut oils such as Brazil, Hazelnut and Kukui. It also contains Safflower oil, one of my favorite plant oils, which is very rich in ceramides. In addition to all that, the Desert Serum is enriched in Wheat ceramides to reinforce and protect hair fibers. (For those who don't know, ceramides are lipids that naturally occur in the skin and the hair but become depleted over the years).
Great formulation I have told you!
Although the bottle is not that big (20ml), I have to say that the quantity was enough to take care of my hair for approximately 3 months, using it approximately twice a week. The packaging looks really stylish and the serum can easily be dispensed thanks to a pump doser; and this is a definitive must-have packaging for me when I deal with oil.
Although I am not a particular fan of really strong essential oils mix scent, the serum aroma is gentle and really pleasant.
I use the Desert Serum more as a leave-in hair oil. The evening prior to the shampoo, I massage my hair lenght with a few drops. I insist well on the dry ends. I leave the ingredients doing their miracles overnight before double shampooing the morning after.
I have noticed my hair becoming gradually more and more softened and strengthened. It will defnitely take time to see any drastic improvement but I can really say that the results so far are encouraging. I would definitely recommend this serum if you suffer with split ends, your hair is sort of brittle/dry or over-coloured/over blowdried.
.... a top hair oil if your hair needs a complete reboost!
My overall rating: 8.5/10
