Beauty box LoveLula November edition: check it out!

It is never too late to introduce you the November edition green beauty box from LoveLula. After the amazing September (here) and October (here) edition, the November one is by no means less appealing! Worth more than £50.00, you only pay the amazing price of £12.50 and get all the products below!

Madara hydra mask (12.5ml sample) // I love this brand. It is not a secret anymore. The SOS range is designed to restore moisture and glow to the skin and this is truly accomplish by the mask. It smells really nice. It has a rich texture. This is a non-rinsing deep moisturising treatment  that is welcome anytime your skin needs it. A while ago, I have tried the serum SOS and loved it too (see review here)!

Humble Natural beauty hand cream (full size) // This hand cream is great at reparing and soothing dry hands. The effects are almost immediate, so big thumb up for the performance. The only downside for me is the smell: the Rose and Frankincense scent is slightly too strong to my taste.

Ooh! Oils of heaven Argan oil (sample) // I have loved the Ooh! Baobab oil (see here) and the Cacay oil, so can't wait to try their Argan oil. Rich in fatty acids and Vitamin E, Argan oil is meant to regenerate and soothe the skin. I love using it as a hair pre-beauty treat.

PHB skin brighten gel (full size) // This is quite an interesting product perhaps because of its gel texture. The transparent gel is quite watery as it uses healing and moisturising Aloe vera. It also contains some skin brightening ingredients such as Licorice extract. The Neroli scent is quite strong so if you don't like it, this one is not for you. It is meant to brighten and even skin tone, but can't comment on its long term performance yet.

MOA Green bath potion shot (10 ml product) // Can't wait to try this de-stress bath miracle potion packed of some of the best healing herbs: refreshing Peppermint, calming Yarrow, detoxifying Fennel and many more! The smell is completetely intoxicating. Will definitely come back to let you know if my excitement is justified.

Another great box from LoveLula! Hurry up and sign up here!

Here's why this Body oils mini Collection could be the perfect Christmas gift for your friends or family.

3// All the botanical oils used for each product's formulation are organic.

4// The price (£20.00 for 3x15ml) is great considering what you get.

Fall comforting textures

December- as much as I love this month for all the festivities it brings, I have to say that my skin tends to struggle a bit more and become more sensitive than usual because of the low temperatures and the rougher weather conditions.
However, I have find a really nice green beauty trio that really helps my skin through this cold period. Have a look below!

Barefoot SOS Nourishing Cleansing Cream (£20.00 for 125ml) //
This cleanser is the perfect cleanser for dry and sensitive skin. It was part of the Lovelula Beauty box (see here). It has a very onctuous texture, and looks more like a rich lotion than a cleanser. Having said that, it does its job really well at gently cleansing and keeping the skin hydrated and supple thanks to the Rosa Mosqueta oil and Calendula extract it contains. I use it as a 2nd cleanser after the Antipodes Juliet cleanser (see review here). Happy about the performance in general.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (£21.99 for 75ml) //
This mask is just a pure goodness in a tube! It smells amazing, it works amazing, I am super enthousiastic about this Antipodes beauty hero! I have recently reviewed it in more details here, but really this is one of the best masks I have tried recently.

Organic Surge Gardeners Hand Cream (£7.99 for 75ml) //
My hands tend to get dry and irritated very easily since I' am often the bike (hello Amsterdam!). The wind and cold temperatures are the culprits but hang on: I have found the solution to keep them super soft, moisturised. This hand cream from Organic Surge has been my little hand saviour over the past couple of weeks. A small amount is enough to soothe and repair any red/dry/chapped patches. In addition, it smells really nice: a lovely mixture of Lime, Basil and Rosemary aromas!

All these goodies are available at Lovelula.

What do you think? Have you tried them?

Aura Manuka Honey mask from Antipodes- generously healing

A moisturising mask is the beauty essential I reach when the weather is cold/windy and my skin wants some comfort. I decided to test the Aura Manuka honey Mask from Antipodes thanks to the LoveLula Blogger program. Not only have I heard brilliant things about this mask, but it also seems it is really the product my skin needs at the moment. Check what I think below!

My opinion

There is no need to introduce the brillant green beauty brand coming all the way from New Zealand: Antipodes. In addition to a beautiful packaging, the brand uses Manuka honey as its star ingredient in their premium line including the popular Aura Manuka honey mask.

Just before talking in more details about the Aura mask, I thought it is necessary to explain a bit why Manuka honey is so special. Manuka honey, which originates from Manuka tree flowers, is reknown for its amazing and unique antibacterial properties thanks to the presence of a molecule called methylglyoxal. Due to its low pH and high viscosity, Manuka honey protects the skin but also boosts its healing processes. It reduces inflammation and draws moisture into the skin.
Be aware that not all Manuka honeys are equal in terms of quality, but the one sourced and used by Antipodes comes from "special hives located in very isolated areas" and derived from "the nectar of the white and pink flowers of wild-grown native Manuka shrubs".

Back to the Aura mask now! I would describe the mask as a very delicate medium thick cream that smells amazing - a very delightful sweet scent with a Vanilla and Mandarin hint. It smells wonderfully good, but it is great for the skin too! Let me explain. Twice a week, I apply onto cleansed skin after using the Juliet brigthening cleanser (see review here). I make sure I use quite a thick layer to maximise effects and I leave it for a good 30 min.
I rinse off with lukewarm water and here is what I observe: my skin is extra soft, calmed, nurtured, healed, lifted. I've been really impressed by the immediate results. My skin is not so much prone to breakouts so I can't really comment on that, but I would really think the Aura mask can really help to reduce any skin inflammation symptoms.

The Aura mask is the beauty solution to a lot of skin problems and I have been really delighted by the overall effect it gives to my skin. It retails at £21.99 for 75ml, not cheap but completely worth it.... Deeply in love it!

Available at LoveLula.

Have you tried it? what do you think?

Baobab oil: its beauty secrets

After talking about Rosehip (see here), Argan (see here), Cacay (see here) oils, today I am very happy to share some great beauty facts about Adansonia digitata oil or commonly named Baobab oilBaobab oil is a very interesting oil that is very popular in Africa but perhaps a bit less elsewhere. So let's discover together its beauty secrets!

Its look and texture /
Baobab oil is extracted from the fruit seeds of the Baobab. This unrefined and rich oil has a very intense golden yellow color. Lightweight oil, it massages with ease with a very soft touch.

Its smell /
It is quite nutty and very pleasant.

What's inside /
Looking closely at its composition, Baobab oil is rich in fatty acids- acid oleic,  Omega 9, Palmitic acid and stearic acid to name a few.

Good for the skin /
If you suffer from dry skin, then this oil is your little skin saviour. Due to its moisturising, emollient and regenerative properties, Baobab oil repairs and heals little damages. It helps to prevent premature ageing and can even be used on the body to attenuate scars.

Good for the hair /
Say bye bye to dry ends! The restorative Baobab oil conditions and repairs hair. It protects the hair and keeps it shiny.

The one I am using /
You may have seen it on my Instagram feed: I have been using the Ooh! Baobab oil *(£19.00 for 30ml) since a few weeks now. It was part of the September edition Beauty box from LoveLula (see here). I massage 2 or 3 drops of the precious oil every evening on the areas more prone to dryness, such as cheeks. My skin feels nourished, protected and softened. I have also applied it occasionally before shampoo as a pre-treat on my hair lenght to restore shine and suppleness.

Final thoughts /
Baobab oil is a lovely multi-purpose beauty oil designed to regenerate dry skin and repair dry hair. Perfect to use during Fall/Winter season or anytime when your skin feels a bit on the dry side.

Why you need to try the latest Superfood for the skin: Cacay oil

If you follow the beauty media/social media closely, you may have noticed the increase focus on a newly beauty oil called Cacay oil. It is supposed to be the latest top anti-ageing oil and since I wanted to figure out whether it is worth or not, I did a bit of research and, of course, tested one- the Cacay oil* from Cacay Naturals.

What is it?
The precious Cacay oil is extracted from the very nurtritive nuts from the Amazon tree Cacay. It has a light nutty smell (which I love!) and a beautiful light gold color.

What's so special about it?
The organic cold pressed Cacay oil is very rich in vitamin E, linoleic acid and retinol. Great. But what makes it unique is that it contains 50% more vitamin E than Argan oil. The proportion of linoleic acid is much higher than in Rosehip, Argan or Tamanu. The retinol amount is 3x higher than in Rosehip oil.

Which benefits for the skin?
It nourishes and softens the skin.
It heals and repairs.
It reduces redness.
It reduces fine lines and blemishes.
It reduces hyperpigmentation and illuminates.

Which skin types can use it?
All type of skins can use this precious oil, whether you have a dry or oily skin, suffering from breakouts or having a sensitive skin.

My conclusion
I have tried many beauty oils to date, but I have to say that the Cacay oil from Cacay Naturals really stands out. In addition to a fabulous content, the Cacay oil also perfoms super well. At least for me. I only use it in the evening and after a few weeks of trial, I can say that my skin looks more even, brighter, just more uniform than before. I was not expecting it but this is a really great oil if you want to boost the skin healing functions, fight those little fine lines that appear with age or just restore skin's balance.
I love the fact that this oil comes in a tinted glass bottle which really helps to preserve the integrity of the oil.
Retailing at £32.75 for 30ml, it is not cheap but it is somehow quite well-priced if you consider the performance and the tiny amount you need per day.

This is definitely a beauty winner for me and would definitely encourage anyone to try it!

Get it here .

Love Lula October green beauty box, superb deal!

So happy to present you the Beauty box from LoveLula, October edition. A bit later than usual but that's ok. Remember the fantastic items in the September edition (see here)? Well the October edition is equally better or even better. Worth more than £40.00, you only pay the amazing price of £12.50 and get all the products below.
And not to forget, you also get a 20% discount on all the brands included in the box. So If you really like a product and would like to purchase it, jump on the offer! Back to the content now.

Barefoot SOS nourishing cleansing cream (full size) // This is an amazing full size cleanser that retails on its own at £20.00! I love creamy cleanser that not only cleanses properly the skin but also nurtures and soothes the skin. The weather is colder and I am sure my skin will love having its daily "routine" with this one. It contains Rosa Mosqueta and Grapeseed oils plus nourishing Cocoa butter. It comes in a handy pump that makes it very hygienic to use.

Ren Flash Hydro-Boost (10 ml sample) // Moisturisers are beauty essentials. So, really pleased to be able to test the latest product from Ren (remember how I love the Moroccan Rose Otto body wash and sugar polish here) which is plumpling and recharges the skin within a few minutes thanks to Hyaluronic acid, ceramides and xylitol. Can't wait to tell you more about this one so make sure you follow my Instagram too. But can already say that a one-off application left my skin incredibly smooth!

John Masters Lip calm (full size) // Soothing and repairing lip balm that also smells really citrussy, that how I could summarize the lip calm from John Masters organic. Certified USDA organic, the lip balm is a really nice coocon for dry and dehydrated lips. I have used it a couple of time already and it  works wonderfully.

PHB natural soap // I have to admit that I am not the greatest soap user. However, I am very tempted to try this one from pHB which has been made by hand in small batches. It is also scented with Lavender which is one of my favorite scent and reminds me my holidays in Provence.

Bon pure tissue oil (sample) // I am very curious about this sample which is an enriched-vitamin E oil blend (with Rosehip, Grapeseed, Avocado) meant to help with scarring and stretch marks. I will probably use it on the body as a body oil and looking forward to see any results. Will keep you posted.

Another great beauty box from LoveLula! Hurry up and sign up here.

Introducing the english beauty brand Greenfrog Botanic

Greenfrog Botanic is an english beauty company that specializes in bodycare beauty products. The entire range features a very interesting ingredient reknowm in India for its cleansing property: the soapberry extract. This extract is really rich in saponins- molecules that act as natural detergents. I have never came across beauty products containing these magical berries, so I am quite curious to compare it to other cleansing body products I have used before.
Greenfrog Botanic sent me a couple of products to test. Read about my thoughts below!

Botanical handwash Rose & Neroli (£7.80 for 300ml)
I am someone who tend to wash my hands quite often during the day, so I really need a very gentle handwash that definitely does not overdry the skin. The one from Greenfrog Botanic comes in a handy pump and houses a creamy gold hand cleanser. One pump is enough to throroughly cleanse hands and leaves them delicately scented with Rose and Neroli mixed with some nice Bitter Orange and Lavender aromas. I am quite a fan of the scent and find that my hands are really soft after use. Bare in mind that this handwash is less foaming than traditionnal green handwashes. Last but not least, the volume of the bottle is very generous so happy to give a thumb up to this affordable green product.

Botanical bodywash Geranium & Peppermint (£8.80 for 300ml)
The bodywash is a SLS-free body cream cleanser that looks somehow fairly similar to the handwash in terms of texture but in an even less foaming version. This kind of bothers me a little since I like to have a bit of foam when it comes to showers. Apart from that, I really like the fact that it cleanses well and that my skin feels refreshed and hydrated. Although I am a superfan of Peppermint, I don't get along with the scent. I can't really picture the reasons for that, but it is just not what I expected.  So I am a tad disappointed about this bodywash (I made my husband try it and he loved it: texture, scent, results... so maybe it is just me. But still). Notice again that the price is really good considering the volume. I would be really keen to try the other scents of the range to see whether I have more chances with them.

... let's explore more from Greenfrog Botanic!

Clean and illuminate your face with the Antipodes Juliet skin-brightening gel cleanser

Antipodes is an award-winning green beauty brand from New Zealand that offers a range of certified skincare, bodycare and makeup products.
Although Antipodes is very popular in the green beauty market, I have never tried anything from them.
Thanks to Lovelula and their blogger program, I have been able to test over the past few weeks the Antipodes Juliet Skin Brightening cleanser. Read below what I think of it!

My opinion

The Juliet skin-brightening cleanser (£24.99 for 200ml)* is a nice brown gel that transforms into a foaming emulsion with the addition of a bit of water. The consistency of the gel is quite interesting and really reminds me more of a creamy chocolate pudding than just a clear gel.

The cleanser is designed to blemish-prone and oily skins. Formula wise, it contains a few ingredients aiming at clarifying the skin. But it also contains other ingredients that will nurture the skin.
To mention a few, you can find:
-Vinanza Performance Plus which comprises exfoliating Kiwifruit skin and antioxidant Grapeseed extract which is suppsed to be anti-ageing, moisturising, calming and illuminating.
- Manuka honey, a low pH and rich in sugar honey that is super healing and repairing.
- Avocado oil, an extremely oleic-rich oil that brings moisture and softeness to the skin.
- Hibiscus flower extract  which is rich in alpha-hydroxy-acids and anthoncyanides and helps to exfoliate and brighten the skin.

The foaming properties are due to the combination of a couple of a mild detergent (the sodium cocoyl glutamate and sodium lauroamphoacetate) which are generally very well tolerated by sensitive skins.

The scent of the cleanser is very fresh and fruity, and perhaps less floral compared to other cleansers I have tried (such as this one or this one), but still a very pleasant aroma to my taste!

I use the Juliet cleanser morning and evening as first cleanser. I sometimes leave it a couple minutes on the skin, and rinse it out with lukewarm water. My skin feels revived after use, very clear and illuminated. Make-up and impurities are all gone. The cleanser is not drying at all and doesn't sting - I think it would also be suitable to normal/combination skin types. Retailing at almost £25.00, it is not cheap but it is one of those complete and well rounded cleansers that I would definitely purchase.

....more than just a cleanser!

Rate: 8.5/10

Have you used it? what do you think?

Cocooning dry skin with Weleda

You all know that I have been a faithful lover and user of all the Weleda products (see my previous posts here and here) and today, there are 2 others products from this green beauty brand I would like to talk about.
If you follow me on Instagram, chances are that you already saw me talking about the Evening Primrose body wash and  about Skin food. I thought they would still diserve their own detailed review here on the blog.

Weleda revitalising shower gel (€7.95 for 200ml) is a lovely and creamy gel that I have been really really enjoying lately since the temperatures have litterally dropped and my skin tend to get dryer. It is one of the best shower gels that I have tested that is able to soothe and repair the skin. It is initially designed for mature skins but let me tell you, me and all my family have been using it. Featuring Sesame, Macadamia, Evening Primrose oils, my skin feels so nurtured after each use that it is often not necessary to apply any body lotion or body oil. This can be quite practical especially when you are a mummy and don't always have time to get body-pampered every morning. Definitely a shower wash I will be repurchasing throughout the Fall/Winter season.

Skin food (€5.50 for 50ml) is the "SOS" iconic cream from Weleda! It has been on the market for more than 90 years. What a lifetime! This rich cream has been particularly helpful when entering in the Fall season. Why? because it has a rich nurturing texture (thanks to plant oils and beeswax, because it cocoons (thanks to ingredients in the formula + the barrier it forms on the skin), because it heals (thanks to Chamomile and Calendula). And it works. It works on my rough and dry hands (made the mistakes to cycle outside without gloves, and when you do 5/6 km per day everyday...), it works on my feet which get instantly softened and it protects amazingly. All in all, it provides instant and deep nourishment. This is the perfect skin saviour at an amazing price!

Get it at Weleda or Naturissimo.

What do you think? What are your favorite cocooning products?

The green beauty brand you absolutely need to try: Annmarie Gianni

I had the pleasure a few weeks ago to be send a few samples from a brand I have actually never heard before: Annmarie Gianni. I was surprised to find out that this green beauty brand is really popular across the pond. Although popularity is usually not a criteria for me to assess my love for a brand, I am still very curious about why this brand seems so loved.
After a  few weeks of testing, I am now able to tell you what I think. Read below!

Aloe Herb facial cleanser (£23.50 for 50ml) // This light and deliciously scented cleanser is one of my favourite products of the bunch. It features a collection of skin-loving ingredients such as Aloe vera juice, Aspen bark extract and herbs that lift aways impurities and leave the skin completeley radiant and smooth. Love. Love. Love. I will definitely buy the full-size product.

Ayurvedic facial scrub (£22.75 for 50ml) // Lots of love for this powerful green powder blend that contains Fenugreek seed powder, Lavender, Rhassoul clay, Neem leaf powder and much more. The smell is very herbal and nice. I usually mix a bit of scrub with water and apply/massage the paste into the face. I leave it for 5 min and rinse it out. The results are fabulous: supersoft and glowing skin. Definitely one I would buy too.

Neroli toning mist (£25.15 for 50ml) // Another super lovely product! I am a super fan of the Orange blossom Neroli scent, so soothing and calming. The base of this toner is actually Aloe vera which is one the best healing product you may find on the beauty market. I spray morning and evening onto cleansed face and waoh, I just love it very much and my skin too!

Herbal facial oil for normal & combination skins (£31.75 for 15ml) // This is the type of oil blend I love! It smells very nice and herbal, the texture is easy to massage and more importantly, the effects on the skin is really what I expect! I usually use it in the evening. The potent oil blend infused with flower and herb leaves and featuring some top extracts (Rosehip, Calendula) has an amazing texture and bring all the goodies to leave my skin glowing, uniform, smooth and completely healed. Superb results!

Rosemary Peppermint body wash (£29.75 for 200ml) // This is perhaps the product I like the least in the bunch. It comes as a light gel. I like the refreshing and invigorating smell of Peppermint. However it does not foam much and I find that you need a lot of in order to "wash" properly. Less fan of this one.

....One of the best green beauty discovery of this year! You must try it!

You can check/get the products and the whole line here if you are from Europe and here if you are from elsewhere.

What do you think? tempted?

Ren body pampering session

There is nothing better than a nice and well deserved pampering session! Sunday eve is often the best time for me, after a busy weekend and before getting ready for another busy week.

My partner in crime for this exquisite session is the Moroccan Rose Otto body wash* and the Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar body polishfrom Ren skincare and available at LoveLula (I am part of their Beauty Blogger program which enables me to test the product of my choice. Really nice). Read below to discover how I use and mainly what I find about these products!

The first step of my pampering session starts with the Morrocan Rose Otto body wash (£19.00 for 200ml). This is a body gel that really helps me to unwind. I also use it after a workout.
It comes in a handy pump that delivers a clear gel that transforms instantly into an onctuous foam. It does an impeccable job at cleansing but also at softening the skin.
The body wash feels really fresh and floral thanks to the Rose Otto flower oil. I would not even suspect that it also contains Lemongrass and Geranium essential oils which creates a nice balance. My skin is left delicately scented but nothing overpowering at all. Notice that you also find "perfume" in the ingredient list and it is specified that it comes from a natural origin.
All in all, the Ren body wash does a great job at thoroughly cleansing my skin while promoting a feeling of well-being thanks to the Rose aroma which I adore.

I continue this nice beauty ritual with the help of the Rose Otto sugar polish (£32.00 for 330ml). Housed in a very generously sized jar, the body polish appears to be very nourishing and nurturing  for the skin. A very nice smell of Rose emerges from the jar once opened thanks to the presence of the Rosa Damascena essential oil
I typically apply it to a dry skin for a maximum exfoliating effect, but if you want a more gentle way of application, just massage it on a damp skin. The polish melts into the water and transforms into a very silky milk. Meanwhile the sugar grains work at removing all dead cells and dry skin until they are completely dissolved.
Combined with Cane sugar is a blend of some of the best soothing oils, including Almond, Olive and Safflower to soften and deeply moisturise the skin. The scrub also features the caffeine-rich ingredients Kola nut extract and Paraguay Tea leaf extract. I am, however, not entirely convinced that it adds much in terms of toning effects.
Let me tell you that this polish gives an amazing silky skin- extremely nourished and soft! You do not  need any body lotions or oils at all. If you are looking for the perfect skin smoother, then it may definitely be this one.

Following this little "me-session" with the Ren Rose Otto duo, I feel completely relaxed, refreshed. I just feel VERY well.

Want to feel like me? Then get the Moroccan Rose bodywash HERE and the Rose Otto sugar polish HERE.

What do you think? Have you ever tried this duo?

Moisturising booster: the Madara SOS hydra repair intensive serum

A good moisturiser is indispensable for me - I always need to have one. I can use it every day, or occasionally on days when my skin feels a bit more tired and dull.
If you are like me and love a one-off product that can deliver a great amounts of hydration and acts instantly, then you may be interested in the Madara moisturising booster, which is also called the SOS hydra repair intensive serum.

Product name: SOS hydra repair intensive serum
For: all skin types
Certified: yes (Ecocert)
Texture: light cream
Price: € 35.00 for 30 ml

My opinion

I really love serums. Concentrated and straight to the point. My skin doesn't tend to be dehydrated, although cold weather can really have a bad impact on its general appearance.
Well, we are approaching the end of the summer (end of September and still feels really nice here in Amsterdam) and over the past few weeks, I have occasionally reached out to the SOS hydra repair serum when my skin needed to feel replumped or recharged after the longs days in the french countryside or on windy Amsterdam beaches (yes, there are beaches!).

The SOS hydra repair serum is a lovely and light pale pink cream, bursting with some top moisturising ingredients such as glycerin, sodium PCA, and hyaluronic acid. It also contains Peony extract which is supposed to be anti-inflammatory and healing. You can also find a blend of wonderful botanical oils including Sea Bucktorn, Nettle and Linseed oils.

The serum feels really velvety on the skin, as the texture is light and really easy to massage evenly. You don't need a lot of product to provide an instant hydration and soothing effect. I like to use it in the evening but I sometimes use 1 or 2  drops in the morning, just to give a nice glow to my skin. Bare in mind that despite the pink color, the serum does not provide any coverage.
I can't seem to find any faults with this serum. It may sound a little bit pricy but you only need to apply a tiny bit eveytime, so, I would say, still decent value for money!

If you are a follower of Mademoiselle Nature, you already know that I have been impressed by some Madara beauty products (see here and here). I really believe Madara is a brand that diserves credit for their result-driven products and without doubt, the SOS repair serum is one of them.

....another winner from Madara!

3 body treats to get your skin glowing

Summer has almost come to an end. Let's be honest: you would love to keep the lovely sunkissed glow you got in July/August for many more weeks? Although this is almost mission impossible, since skin has to renew naturally, here are 3 products that may help you to achieve a really nice and smooth skin.

Ellovi body butter ($26.00 for 50g)
This body butter is a pure joy to use: creamy, melting without effort and smelling like paradise! Check my detailed review (here) to know more about this little treasure. I can guarantee you that you will not want to live without it after your first use! Skin is left really nourished and glowing.

Weleda refreshing citrus oil (€13.95 for 100ml)
So refreshing and really "Weleda", I love how smooth and hydrated my skin is after applying this oil after the shower. If you are a citrus fan, this is the body oil you need to get! Affordable and effective, this body oil combines simplicity with lovely results.

Herbfarmacy enriching body oil (£12.50 for 45ml)
Last but not least, let me introducing you this fabulous dark golden color body oil. It is rich in Apricot oil and vitamine E to combat dryness and stimulate skin regeneration. Great to prolong sunkissed glow too! I personnaly use it in the morning after showering, but also in the evening. It is wonderfully scented with Sweet Orange and Ylang Ylang. Lovely!

Have you tried any of those? What do you think?

Toning with the Herbfarmacy Rose and Echinacea toner

Herbfarmacy is an english green beauty brand. A while ago, I tested their hand beauty treatment (see here) and I loved it - it transformed my tired hands into elegants ones. So I was more than happy to explore their range further.
Having recently gone through a rebranding, I am happy to introduce you today the Rose and Echinacea toner* in its new look! Read below my detailed thoughts of this toner!

Name: Rose and Echinacea toner
Certified: no
For: All skin types
Texture: liquid
Price: £17.50 for 95ml

My opinion

Well done Herbfarmacy, I love your new packaging and I especially love the dark green glass that gives your range a very natural and earthy look.

Now, let's focus on the toner itself. It comes in a handy spray which delivers evenly tiny drops. Good point to start with!
I mentionned many times in this blog why I love Rose floral water (see here for exemple). I have already tried a few brands, including the lovely Alteya Organic White Rose flower water (see here). But what I like about the alcohol-free toner from Herbfarmacy is the fact that organic Rose flower water is mixed with Echinacea water, which enhances the beauty properties of the toner. Often used as a natural plant in winter to prevent cold and boost the immune system, Echinacea seems also very useful in the skincare/beauty industry. The Echinacea leave/flower water have anti-inflammatory properties and helps balancing the skin. It also supports the skin repairing system. So good ingredient choice here.

If you look at the formula, you will notice that The Rose & Echinacea toner is conserved using phenoxyethanol in association with benzyl alcohol and potassium sorbate. It seems quite a strong and less "green" way of preserving the product compared to other toners I know but the preservation of the toner against bacteria growth must be assured and for now (and despite any controversy over these preservatives) that is what matters to me.

Performance-wise, this toner helps to:
  • soothe my skin after cleansing.
  • hydrate.
  • refresh.
  • improve my skin's tone.
I usually use it morning and evening onto cleansed skin followed by my SPF cream (see here) or by my evening beauty oil (not reviewed yet).

With its really nice scent, the Rose and Echinacea toner has gained a real place in my skincare routine. Suitable for all skin types even the delicate ones.

It is available at Lovelula.

Composition: Rose Damascena (Damask Rose) flower water, Echinacea purpurea flower/stem/leaf stem flower water, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, potassium sorbate, lactic acid

Have you tried it? what is your favorite toner?

The body butter that I feel in love with: Ellovi butter

So happy to be back on blogging after the summer. Hello everyone!
If you want to see what I was up to these past few weeks, follow me on Instagram for some up to date pictures.
Ok back to business. Today I would like to talk in more detail about the body butter from Ellovi. Ellovi is a green beauty brand from California that I came across many times, but actually never tested.
Taking care of the body is as important as having a great skincare ritual. However, I have to admit that I am not always as rigourous as I should be. Will the Butter* from Ellovi help me change my habit for the good? Read below!

Product name: Butter Chamomille Blossom
Texture: balmy
Certified: no
For: all skin types
Price: $26.00

My opinion

Despite all what the beauty market has to offer in terms of body products, I often believe that simplicity is a winner. And this could really be applied to the Butter from Ellovi. If you are a faithful reader of Mademoiselle Nature, you may remember that I love oil/balm textures, but I also dislike the too greasy film that some products leave behind- it is always somethng I am cautious about when it comes to choose beauty and body products in general.

Ellovi butter is a gorgeous balm made of only 6 ingredients! Let me pick out three of them. Its main component is Mango butter, which is a nice surprise, since it has exceptional nourish and restore features - perfect for the body (and hair!). Rich is Omegas 9 and phytosterols, it helps to deeply regenerate dry skin. The next two ingredients are also great dry skin fighters - Coconut oil and Shea butter. They both contain insaponifiables and teroenic acids that help skin to heal and calm.
The texture of Ellovi butter is lovely as it literally melts into a very creamy oil that massages so well into the skin. It is really easy to scoop a little amount out which makes it very convenient for application. Skin is left silky glowing!

The scent is great too! I had picked the Chamomille Blossom (since then, their range has extended to Key lime & Copaiba, sounds dreamy!) and waoh, I am completely in love with it. It is such a delicate and refreshing smell, very light at the same time. It is really the kind of scent you want to wear in spring/summer days althought I could definitely wear it all year long. It features the lovely Tangerine essential oil, which is probably one of the best duo partners to Chamomille. The butter may be a tad expensive but I am really impressed by the product - simple, effective and pleasant to use.

... an incredibly soothing body treat that smells like heaven!

+++ smell and so soft for the skin

Top clay mask : the pink one from Rossi uvema skincare

If you don't know the really nice english green beauty shop Sujet de Vert yet, then it is time for you to discover it. Founded by a green beauty blogger, this online boutique is based in London and retails some really interesting brands - one of them being: Rossi uvema skincare.
I was asked to test a product of the line and my eyes were immediately caught by the rejuvenating mask. Worth it? Read below!

Product: intense rejuvenation Rose & Pink Clay face mask
Certified: no
For: dry, sensitive or mature skins
Texture: creamy
Price: £15.25 for 70 gr

My opinion

If you are like me and don't always have time to DIY beauty, then the Pink clay mask is an excellent choice. Ready made and fuss-free, really easy to use, this skin saviour mask will do an amazing job at keeping your face purified and ultra-glowing.

One of the best key features of the mask is that despite containing Pink clay, it doesn't lead to the dry feeling that some skin types get while the mask dries out. No tight or itchy skin... isn't it nice?
I love the fact that the texture is really creamy and onctuous and application really easy. The smell is really pleasant and subtle, kind of flowery but not too much. So great for any sensitive noses!
The selection of ingredients is really clever: combining the absorbing and the remineralising effects of Pink clay with some soothing and very emolliating nut oils (Sweet Almond and Plum kernel) help the clear out without any drying factors. It also contains Cocoa butter, a lovely and rich butter that protects and nourishes the skin. Another favourite ingredient of mine is Aspen Bark extract. Also present in this other wonderful mask (see review here), Aspen Bark extract is known for its exceptionnel antiseptic properties so I am not surprised to find it here.

I use the intense rejuvenation Pink clay mask once (occasionnaly twice) a week in the evening after exfoliating with the Graine de Pastel exfoliant (see review here) and I just find this rythm being very beneficial for my skin. (As you all may know, I tend to not use/rotate too many products at the same time and like to keep a really well balanced skincare regime -when I can of course). I follow up by spraying my face with the Peppermint floral water (see review here) and gently massage my skin with the lovely healing beauty oil from Be. Loved (see review here). Et voila.

As an overall, the Pink clay mask is a winner: great perfomance and not to forget - a great price too!

.....Really recommend this multi-fonction beauty mask!

+ price
- none

My overall grade: 8.5/10

Would like to purchase the mask? get it here.

Composition: natural pure sundried Pink clay, aqua (purified water), Prunus dulcis (Sweet Almond) oil, Prunus domestica (Plum kernel) oil, emulsifying wax, glycerin, Theobroma cacao (Cocoa) butter, Populus tremoloides (Aspen bark) extract, tocopherol, sodium levulinate, sodium anisate, glycerin, Rosa damascena (Roso otto) oil.

What do you think? do you use any clay mask?

My french cute little face scrub from Graine de Pastel

Bonjour a tous. OK I will stop here for the french. Let's go straight to topic and let me present you the lastest french product I have been using lately. It is called exfoliating face scrub from Graine de Pastel, a green beauty company based near Toulouse. Read below what I think!

Name: organic exfoliation face cream
Texture: creamy
Certified: no
For: any skin types
Price: €19.50 for 50ml

My opinion

I noticed this french company quite some time ago, but it is only during my last trip to france that I finally started to experiment their exfoliating scrub. It was actually a perfect timing since I was running out of the face scrub I was using at the time (the lovely Madara peel mask which I will surely purchase again). Exfoliating is one of the key beauty steps I never like to skip (although I make sure to not exceed once or twice a week).

First, take a look at the pic: don't you think this little Aluminium tube is looking really cute? I do!

Aside from the lovely packaging, I was immediately conquered by the product itself too.
The first thing I really like is that you don't need to use a lot of scrub. So despite the size of the tube, the exfoliant will last you quite a while. The other thing I really like is the texture. The scrub is creamy yet extremely easy to massage. You can feel some grains but because they are very tiny, any types of skins can use this exfoliating paste, even the sensitive ones. The key ingredient of the range is extracted from Pastel, a plant used for centuries in France thanks to its medecinal properties. That is also where the name of the company originated from. Another big plus is the combination of clarifying ingredients (Kaolin), moisturising oils (Pastel and Sunflower) and anti-irritant components (Daisy flower extract).
Bare in mind that the scent is not entirely natural since a "parfum" has been added to the formula. A bit pity...

If you dream of a very silky baby-like skin after each exfoliating session, then, you know what you have to do now. My skin feels like renewed and glowing after each application!

I can't dream of a better preparation for the (super) serum that just comes after (review here)...!

++ formula and results
- presence of fragrance

Overal grade: 8/10

Composition: Aqua (water), Anthemis nobilis flower extract, Kaolin, caprylic/capric trigliceride, glyceril stearate, glycerin, hydrated silica, parfum (fragance), cera alba, cetearyl alcohol, xanthan gum, Isatis tintoria seed oil, sodium stearoyl, Prunus domestica seed power, Helianthis anuus seed oil, tocopherol, beta-sitosterol, squalene, quartz, dehydroacetic acid, benzyl alcohol, citric acid, citral, benzyl salicylate, linalool, limonene.

You can get it here.

What do you think? Have you got a favorite face scrub? would you try this one?
