Staying fresh all day long

Indian summer was at its pick last week here in The Netherlands but unfortuntaly it did not last long. Today was all about rain, mist and grey sky!
Back to beauty now. Let's talk about body freshness, deodorant, and natural eau de toilette! As you know, I live in Amsterdam, and who says Amsterdam says "cycling". Since I cycle every day (and I have been lately into fitness), remaining fresh is really important to me.
I have picked 2 products* from LoveLula to help me smelling amazing all day long. Find out below how they both perform!

I am a super big fan of Madara: all of the products I have tried have always delivered (see here and here). However, I was a bit skeptical before trying this deodorant. Body odor is quite personal/versatile and it really depends on the daily activities too.
As being someone quite active and sporty, I have a few "deodorant" expectations. It must:
- smell nice.
- needs to be easy to apply.
- help to cover the natural underarm odors while not blocking the natural body's elimination processes.
The Madara herbal deodorant almost ticks all the boxes. It comes as a really soothing and scented light emulsion formulated with Northern Sage, Peppermint, and Potassium Alum. The roll-on works perfectly and ensures the uniformity of the application. It leaves the skin really moisturized and not irritated at all. The only small drawback I could pinpoint is that I need to reapply it a bit more frequently than I would like during the day.
As an overall, it has a good value for money and is great for everyday use but not sure it really "covers" after an intensive workout.

Balm Balm Bergamot natural perfume (£22.00 for 33ml)
I have tried a few natural perfumes before (review here for example) but this is my first time using one as a spray. I actually don't mind at all as it is really convenient to apply especially when I am in rush or if I just want a quick mess-free refresh.
The Balm Balm natural perfume is Soil Association-certified and is simply made of grain alcohol and Bergamot essential oil. Grain alcohol is also called ethyl alcohol and is naturally derived from rye or wheat. Some studies have shown that grain alcohol does not over dry nor irritate the skin. However, I still prefer avoiding the perfume being directly on my skin and rather spray it onto my clothes.
Scentwise, I am so fond of Bergamot: floral, light, yet not overpowering. The scent is fresh and uplifting even after a couple of hour application. I wear the Bergamot natural perfume "alone" but very interestingly, you have the possibility to combine it with other scents from the range. Nice isn't?
All in all, I'm very happy with the Bergamot natural perfume, I really like the simplicity of it!

Treating my skin with Kahina Giving Beauty

Today, I have the pleasure to write about an organic beauty brand I really like: Kahina Giving beauty. Inspired by the Moroccan beauty traditions and using Argan oil as its signature ingredient, the Ecocert-certified brand offers a lovely collection of products. I have been testing the facial lotion and the moisture mask thanks to the generosity of Anouk, founder of the green boutique Corpo Natura. Read below what I think.

Facial lotion (€54.00 for 50ml)

With its very smooth and lightweight texture, the Kahina lotion feels like a softening caress on the skin. Designed to be used as a morning moisturizer, I also like to use it as a regenerative night cream. The weather is ok at the moment so I tend to stay clear from wearing oils during the day: it gives a too dewy finish and I am not too keen on it.
When I reach the Facial lotion in the morning, I usually massage 1 or 2 drops into cleansed skin: this is enough to provide my skin all the nutrients and softness it needs. The light emulsion contains healing Argan oil, moisturizing hyaluronate sodium, and anti-inflammatory Raspberry seed oil. Sometimes, I may layer a pea size amount of the Kimberly Sayer ultra-light moisturizer SPF30 to provide some sun protection but it would depend if I am outside or not during the day.
As an overall, the Kahina Facial lotion does an excellent job at moisturizing the skin without being heavy. It delivers all the promises written! I would definitely recommend it if you have a dry, normal, combination and/or sensitive skin.

Moisture mask (€92.00 for 50ml)

I have often said it in this blog: having a good moisturizing mask is essential in keeping the skin healthy and in good balance.
The mask from Kahina is a rich and unctuous Aloe vera-based concoction, made with some very potent botanical extracts such as Red wine grape extract, prickly Pear seed oil, or Barley extract. Its concentration in natural actives makes it the ultimate SOS mask for tired, aging and dehydrated skins. It is perfect to calm skin after a day spent outdoors or after sun overexposure. But it is also excellent at cocooning, quenching and plumping thirsty skins.
The texture is really creamy and gently melts on the skin when you apply it. I usually leave it for 30 min despite the 15 min recommendation- I guess too much goodness can't be bad for the skin.
My skin is left calmed, really smooth, and so comfortable. All dry patches are gone.
Pricewise, the mask is not cheap, however, my experience has been really positive and my skin just loves this mask so much.
