Natural french beauty brands on the test: Patyka and Absolution

Hello Summer! Can you believe it is already mid-July? Honestly, I can't! Anyway, today I'm excited to talk about a couple of skincare and body care products from French brands I wanted to try for ages: Patyka and Absolution which are popular french high-end natural beauty brands. Thanks to the online boutique Jolie, I had the pleasure to test these few Made in France goodies while holidaying in Dubai and also here in Amsterdam. Read my thoughts below!

Patyka marine crystals revitalising body scrub* (€25.00 for 125ml)

I have reached for the Patyka body scrub mainly before my holidays to prepare my body for the oncoming beach sessions (and I'm currently finishing off the last bits this week). The gentle and revitalising body scrub looks like a creamy gel- very pleasant to use on the skin. With its very fresh scent, the formula is enriched in soft Poppy grains and marine crystals that lift away dead cells and impurities. The scrub produces a slight foam upon contact with water making the application very easy. I absolutely love how my skin is left smooth, firm, and feels like completely revitalised and glowing afterward. Bare in mind the presence of "parfum" in the formula if you are someone that rather want to stay away from it. As an overall, this is a really great body exfoliator from Patyka and I would be super keen to try the rest of their body range.

Absolution La creme gommante* (€31.90 for 100ml)

Absolution is a French beauty brand that has been on my radar for a while now so I am glad to be able to test the face scrub. La creme gommante is an Aloe vera juice based- rich cream displaying an interesting formulation combining nourishing botanicals oils, fruit extractsand flower waters. The exfoliating actions are due to the presence of fine particles of Diatomaceous earth and the AHA's found in the Blueberry, Lemon, and Sugar Cane extracts. You can also find Bentonite that brings clarifying properties to the scrub.
The texture is very unctuous and concentrated so I don't need much to reveal a much brighter and radiant skin. At the end, this is an absolutely lovely face scrub designed to illuminate, restore the skin glow, and softens at the same time. Suitable for all skin types (which is nice!).

Absolution Le serum anti-soif hydrating serum* (€38.00 for 100ml)

Housed in a very smart and hygenic pump dispenser, the serum Anti-soif is a wonderfully lightweight gel/creme that instantly melts into the skin when I apply it. Formulated with plant hydrosols, flower extracts, fruit extracts and botanical oils, the serum leaves the skin soft and moisturised. It also contains the top natural healer Aloe vera. Whereas Sage and Mint hydrosols bring some tonic and antiseptic properties while keeping the sebum production in balance, healing plant extracts (Elderberry flower, Wild Pensey) aim to improve the skin texture. It also features Fucocert, a plant polysaccharide praised for its highly calming and moisturising properties. This serum is really a superb skincare discovery. It really stands up to its claims. Forgot to mention that it can be used underneath your daily cream or makeup as it leaves no greasy residues. Worth the try!

Have you tried these brands? what are your thoughts?

Top summer beauty essentials: skincare + make-up

Summer is just here so I thought I will share with you my must-have beauty goodies for the hot season. The list below comprises skincare products light enough to use during warm days and a selection of some nice make-up items to complete and beautify your look especially when the sun is really shining!

Pacifica Purify Coconut water cleansing wipes* (£4.99 for 30 wipes)
I rarely use wipes during the year except in the summer. Wipes can be really handy especially if I spend time outdoors or if I just want an easy and quick cleansing moment throughout the day.The  Pacifica wipes are refreshing and do their job quick and really well. Featuring Aloe vera Juice, Coconut water, Papaya extract, and gentle detergents, they quickly remove make-up and dirt  leaving the skin hydrated and happy.

Alteya Organics Bulgarian Rose water*
My skin loves Rose water... especially during the Summer. With so many beauty properties (see HERE), Rose water perfects the cleansing, balances, refreshes and tones the skin. I'm also in love with the delightful floral scent. Alteya organics is a natural beauty brand that I trust and I often come back to when I want to purchase Rose-infused skincare products.

Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light facial moisturiser SPF 30 (£26.50 for 120ml)
Light, non greasy, and easily absorbed, this moisturiser has been following me everywhere for many months already. I am a big fan, and is the perfect summer cream that can moisturise and protect the skin during the hot months. You can read my full review HERE.

Hurraw Green tea lip balm* (£4.99)
You get soft lips garanteed with this one! I love Hurraw and Green tea is by far my favorite scents of the ones I have tested. The unique composition enriched in Hemp, Almond, and Coconut oils makes this balm very nourishing for the lips. You can also find some anti-oxidants benefits thanks to the green tea powder. The scent is wonderful, delicate with a delicate hint of Jasmine. I won't go anywhere this summer without this one!

Ere Perez Chamomille eyeshadow palette* (£26.50)
This is the first makeup item I try from the Aussie natural cosmetics Ere Perez. The compact and stylish white palette comprises a range of 6 very harmonious shades including 3 mattes and 3 shinner ones. The colors are very neutral and quite easy to o wear for any skin types/eye colors. The composition is enriched with Chamomille essential oil to soothe and respect the delicate eye areas. The finish is subtle and very natural, perfect to wear during the day. For an evening look, I would go more for the RMS eye-shadows (review HERE) which are perhaps more pigmented.

PHB Ethical beauty pressed mineral blusher + SPF15* (£14.95)
Apply a touch of this pink blusher on the cheeks to naturally illuminate your tan and give that rosy glow you love! The Petunia shade blusher from the english brand PHB Ethical beauty is really lovely. It is mineral-based which I prefer over a creamy texture (especially during the summer). Free from talc and mineral oils, the blusher is enriched is Jojoba oil and nourishing minerals that soften the skin while restoring an healthy complexion! The SPF 15 is really convenient, the color is beautiful and customisable, and the matte result is great!

What do you think? Have you tried these?

Current beauty cleanser: Manuka cleanser by Natural Being

You all know I love cleansers, so today, let me talk about the Manuka cleanser, a skincare item I have picked thanks to the LoveLula Blogger program.

If you don't know Natural Being, let's me introduce you this beauty brand from New Zealand. They offer a range of unique skincare products featuring their signature ingredient: Manuka Honey.  Are you curious about this cleanser? Read my thoughts below!

The Manuka cleanser is a gentle cleanser designed to normal/dry type of skins and aiming to delicately cleanse the skin. It comes as a white and milky emulsion which is extremely gentle. It does not foam but massages very well on the skin.

The product features one of my favorite beauty ingredients- Manuka honey. Manuka honey is known for its exceptional healing and anti-bacterial properties thanks to the presence of a molecule called methyglyoxal. Due to its low pH and high viscosity, Manuka honey protects the skin, reduces inflammation, and draws moisture into the skin. The cleanser formula is also enriched with Manuka essential oil, oil used for centuries by Maori to combat irritation and infection. And did you know that Manuka oil is supposed way more potent than Tea tree oil?

The cleanser is housed in a tube: I would have preferred a pump flacon as I find pump flacon more practical and hygienic to deliver the right amount of product.

The texture is really fine and smooth, quite on the runny side though. The smell is really nice and delicate. I usually used it as first or 2nd cleansing, depending on the day or on the make-up I wear.

After the last rinse, my skin is left refreshed and as promised, soft and moisturized. I haven't experienced any signs of tightness or uncomfortable sensations.

Overall, I am really happy with this cleanser and apart from the packaging, I don't see any other low sides. Retailing at £14.99, I would say that this is a very nice mid-price range cleanser that cleanses well while respecting the skin's natural balance.

You can buy it HERE.

Composition: aqua, cetearyl olivate, sorbitan olivate, Macadamia ternifolia (Macadamia) seed oil, Persea gratissima (Avocado) seed oil, glucose, sclerotium gum, decal glucoside, mel (Manuka honey),  potassium sorbate, parfum (fragrance), glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase, tocopherol (vitamin E), Leptospermum scoparium (Manuka) oil, geraniol*, limonene*, linalool*.*from natural essential oils.

What do you think? Have you tried it?

Spring skincare routine + current make-up favorites

I can't believe we are already in April and that we are having such a fabulous and sunny week!
With brighter and longer days ahead, I thought I would share with you a couple of beauty and make-up goodies that I have been reaching really regularly.

The Zk'in softening cream cleanser *($29.95 for 100ml) // This cleanser is such a wonderful discovery. Formulated by the Australian brand, the fine non-foaming emulsion is a pure bath of hydration for the skin. It still cleanses the skin thoroughly while leaving the skin incredibly balanced and calmed. The scent is super nice as well. This is one of the best surprise of 2018 so far!

The Zk'in natural hydrating mist *($39.95 for 120ml) // I have been diligently using this toner and, wow, it is really lovely! It gently soothes and hydrates the skin. The scent is really subtle. Made with Aloe vera juice and some other great plant-based ingredients, I bet you will fall in love with this one as well!

The Antipodes Worship anti-oxidant serum *(£33.00 for 30ml) // With its amazing composition featuring New Zealand superfruits, this light red tinted oil-free serum has everything the skin needs to protect and fights against premature aging. This is the perfect addition to Springtime since days are sunnier. It absorbs really well and leaves the skin exceptionally smooth and radiant. I never skip it in my morning routine.

The Kimberly Sayer moisturiser (£26.50 for 120ml) // As you can see, I am still really faithful to my favourite moisturiser. I use it every single day. It is not greasy, moisturises really well and protect the skin against UV thanks to it SPF 30. All in all, I am so super keen on this one. You can read HERE the full review.

The RMS eye shadow Garden Rose-gr19 *(£19.00 unit)// I have already mentioned the RMS beauty eye shadow HERE. I have been reaching for this eye-shadow quite often: it has a very nice pink shade, slightly shimmery, but not too much. The shade goes extremely well with my green eyes and it just feels very springy!

The PHB Ethical Beauty 100% Pure liquid eyeliner Black *(£12.95 unit) // I love the slight edgy side that eye-liner gives to any eyes. It gives that little extra "kind of chic " if you see what I mean! The liner from PHB Ethical Beauty is really nice- it is easy to applied, the brush applicator is great and super fine, while the liner really behaves well all day long. I am really enthousiastic about it and would definitely buy another one.

What do your think? What are your Spring favorites?

Skin beauty goodies

Weleda Skin food (full size)
The cult beauty balm for Weleda is a beauty must-have that helps to nourish and smoothe dry and rough skins thanks to the Chamomille and Calendula. Face or body, the thick balm can be applied anywhere and anytime when your skin really needs some nourishement and cuddles! I love using it on my hands or cheeks especially prior cycling! Luna Kloris (sample)
It is always nice to discover a new beauty brand and Luna Kloris is one of them! This english company has recently launched this beautiful natural luxural oil designed to restore the skin radiance. Handcrafted and featuring a blend of anti-oxidant packed oils, the Luna Kloris oil smells really amazing. I have only tested it once so can't tell much about it but the blend really absorbs well leaving the skin wonderfully smooth.

Optiat Hungover coffee scrub (full size)
I was not expecting much from this body scrub to be honest: I have a tendency to stay away from messy scrubs especially those containing coffee ground as they can turn my clean shower/bath into a really messy one. BUT this scrub really took me by surprise: it works amazingly well and gives my body such a nice invigorating and refreshing feeling thanks the the Peppermint it contains. My skin is left polished, smooth, and really nurtured. So apart from the tiny mess it leaves, I really love this product and would be eager to try the other scents!

Nini Organics Natura miracle mask (generous sample)
I love a good mask so I was pretty excited to try this one. Housed in a cute little container, this powder mask is a powerful blend of healing clays and herbs garanteed to revive and clarifying any type of skins especially the troubled ones. You can mix  it with a bit of water but I prefer using honey or yogurt instead. I apply the paste, leave it for less than 10 min, gently massage the paste, and rinse out. The effects on my skin are really noticeable: my skin looks brighter, calmer, and purified.

Siskyn Lemon & Sea Buckthorn night treatment oil (generous sample)
Designed to brighten the skin, the Siskyn night oil is a lovely blend of some really precious oils: Borage, Rosehip, Sea Buckthorn, Carrot, Evening Primrose to name a few. Hyaluronic acid toner Mega mist by ByBi- just another toner?

Today I am very excited to talk about toners and particularly one: the ByBi Mega mist toner formulated and launched by the clean Beauty Co team, Elsie and Dominika.
Toners have an important place in my beauty routine: I never skip them! I have been using the ByBi Mega mist for weeks now and I just even finished the last drops this morning. Did this toner meet my expectations? Find out below.

My opinion

With its lovely and fresh packaging, the Mega mist seems to have been created for me. It is housed in a glass spray bottle that delivers a fine transparent liquid solution. The smell is quite fresh and pleasant although nothing that reminds me of flowers or sweet scents.
The pH of the skin usually varies between 4 and 6 and one beauty step that is very pH disruptive is cleansing. That is why using a toner after face cleansing helps to preserve the acid mantle of the skin and to maintain its skin barrier function.

What does it do?
The Mega mist features a lovely blend of some great beauty ingredients- soothing Rose flower water, calming Lemonbalm water,  bitter Orange flower water, and a few interesting plant/fruit extracts such as Pomegranate extract. To boost the moisturizing properties of the toner, you can also find Sodium hyaluronate- the salt of the highly praised hyaluronic acid.
Bare in mind that this toner is not organic certified, so I am not sure whether some of the ingredients have been organically grown or not.

How do I use it?
I usually use it every evening after double cleansing. It is very refreshing and hydrating. I make sure to not overspray as it can leave the skin slightly sticky.

What are the results/conclusions?
I have finished the bottle this morning and I can tell you: I love this mist! It really gives my skin a gentle illuminating boost without being "too much". My skin is left really happy and glowing after each application. What I also like is that it provides a little bit more than what I expect from a simple toner.
On a more practical side, I really like that the toner volume is not too big- quite handy I would say to transport.

Any downsides?
I noticed that if I spray too much product, my skin become a little bit sticky which is not something I particularly like. Perhaps it is due to the presence of caprylyl/capryl glucoside which acts a natural foaming surfactant. This has put me off to spray this mist on the top of my make-up.

Bottom line
Retailing at $36.00 for 100 ml, the price tag is quite high. Having said that, this alcohol-free and refreshing toner offers a lot of benefits for the skin. It is a great addition to your routine if you are looking for that sophisticated toner that aims to bring a bit more than a just a single ingredient- traditional toner. Overall, it works really well and is really gentle. Did I say that the packaging looks really cute? In short, I would be very happy to repurchase another flacon!

Composition: Rosa damascena (Rose) flower water, Citrus aurantium amara (bitter Orange) flower water, Melissa officinalis (Lemon balm) flower/leaf/stem water, glycerin aqua, propanediol, sodium levulinate, heptyl glucoside, caprylyl/capryl glucoside, sodium anisate, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), Aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, Camilla sinensis (Camelia) leaf extract, Laminaria digitata (algae) extract, Punica granatum (Pomegranate) fruit extract, lactic acid, polyglyceryl-5 oleate, sodium cocoyl glutamate, citric acid, glyceryl caprylate, heptanol.

What do you think? Have you tried this toner yet?

My Winter beauty picks for a smooth skin

Cold, rainy and windy, the Dutch winter is usually not kind to anyone's skin, including mine.
To combat the harsh wintery conditions, here are my top picks to maintain my skin soft and happy!

The Antipodes Grace gentle cream cleanser (£24.99 for 120ml)
This creamy and rich cleanser feels like heaven for environmentally-stressed skins. Its delicate formulation features some amazing ingredients for dry and sensitive skins- Avocado oil, Macadamia oil, and the anti-inflammatory super antioxidant Vinanza Oxifend. I usually use this cream cleanser as a 2nd cleanser. I massage a small pea onto the face insisting the forehead, cheeks, and chin.  The smell is lovely and feels like a mixture of Vanilla and flowers. This is not an everyday cleanser for me but it does a perfect job cleansing and nurturing the skin, and this is so needed in Winter!

The John Master Organics Calendula toning mask (£26.00 for 57g)
I have completely fallen in love with this mask. A total bliss for the skin which is left so smooth, hydrated and soft! The little pot contains one of the most effective formula I have come across in terms of results. Using Aloe vera as a base, this powerful treat softens and immediately repairs the skin. It is so perfect in Winter if your skin is dry, sensitive or irritated. I do recommend it to anyone of you who are looking for that powerful soothing weekly treatment.

The Madara total renewal night cream (£42.00 for 50ml)
I have raved about this cream before and I am not surprised to talk about it one more time. This is one of my favorite products from Madara: a light pastel green unctuous night cream packed with the most effective ingredients such as Birch water, cell repair bio complex and hyaluronic acid to work overnight to improve skin regeneration, soothe dry patches, stimulate cell's functions for a plumped and completely rested skin in the morning. This is a wonderful product that really delivers outstanding results. I use it every night and I love it!

The John Master Organics Lime&Ginger hand cream (£14.00 for 54ml)
It has perhaps not the richest texture but it does its job well: soothing and keeping my hands hydrated throughout the day thanks to the presence of Sunflower and Black spruce needle oils. I usually reapply it a couple of times, since my hands tend to be quite sensitive to cold weather (and I am outside quite often). The smell is lovely yet subtle. I would love to try the Orange & Rose scented version which also seems very appealing.

The Melvita l'Argan bio gentle shower (£13.86 for 250ml)
I am quite a fan of the Weleda body washes (see HERE) but this time, I thought that I would experiment a body product from the French brand Melvita. The Argan bio shower gel cleanses the skin without stripping the body natural oils. The presence of Argan oil emollients soothes and hydrates while the delicate scent envelops the skin and softens the senses. If you are looking for a gentle body wash that does exactly what it says, then go for it! I had a look on their website and got my eyes on some other body cleansers too- the  Rose Petal shower and the Extraordinary shower.

What do you think? How are you keeping your skin soft during cold weather?

LoveLula February green beauty box: interesting selection

Another month has passed and it has been a little while since I haven't shown you the monthly Lovelula green beauty box content. So here it is -the February edition*, worth more than £65.00! You only pay the amazing price of £12.50 in the UK and only £17.50 (3 months subscription) if you live outside the UK and you get all the products below!

And not to forget, you also get a 20% discount on all the brands included in the box. So If you really like a product and would like to purchase it, jump on the offer! Back to the content now.

Madara exfoliating oil-to-milk scrub (full size- £24.00 for 60ml)
This is actually the 2nd time that the Madara face exfoliant features in a Lovelula green beauty box. I like it as it really does what it says on the packaging. The unctuous gel rich in Apricot oil and in small wax microbeads transforms into a milky emulsion once you mix a bit of water. It is a perfect skin smoother and really help to unify the skin. If you have a sensitive skin, I would perhaps use only a really tiny amount as I find this exfoliant almost working "too well".

Urban Veda Radiance hydrating toner (full size- £9.74 for 150ml)
Featuring Tumeric and botanical infusion of Marigold, Patchouli, and Coriander, this toner has everything to make my skin happy. Designed to even the skin tone and revitalize the skin, I can see this one becoming a beauty staple very soon. However, I have seen that the formulation is not as clean as I would expect to be. It also contains alcohol. So again, if your skin is usually reactive, patch test before use.

Ooh! Organic avocado hydrating facial oil (full size- £19.00 for 30ml)
So glad to see the latest beauty oil of Ooh! featuring in this box! Avocado oil is a dreamy oil for dry skins as it soothes and deeply nourishes the epidermis. I do not have a dry skin but the cold weather conditions have made my skin more sensitive and a bit more flaky than usual. To combat these symptoms, I mix my favorite moisturizer (see HERE) with 1 or 2 drops of this beautiful rich oil to add some nourishment. I also massage my hands with a few drops and they literally drink them up!

The generous sample contains enough to cream to cover at least a couple weeks of application. I have yet to try this moisturizer but by the look and the scent of it, it looks really nice. It features a whole bunch of skin super active ingredients such as botanical oils and plant extracts to hydrate, protect and revitalize the skin. Stay tuned, I will give you a quick feedback on Instagram as soon I have tried it.

Another great box from Love Lula. Hurry up and sign up HERE!
Get 20% of the brands in the box HERE by using the code BBFEB18 (valid until 28/02/18).

Valentine's day top beauty tips

Love is in the air...Valentine's day is tomorrow! Are you ready?  If not, don't worry. I've got you covered.
I am sharing with you my top 4 beauty tips to be and feel gorgeous for that unique occasion!

1- Exfoliate from top to toes
Get that smooth and unbelievably soft skin by buffing away dead cells and impurities. Opt for a gentle skincare exfoliant such as the Kimberly Sayer gentle Almond and Lavender exfoliant (see HERE) or the Madara Peel mask (see HERE) to simply reveal a more luminous complexion. For the body, I love the Ren Moroccan Rose Otto body polish (see HERE) for its incredible smoothing action on the skin.

2- Indulge your skin with body oil
Embrace that satin-feel and shimmering skin after massaging the body with a luxurious oil after showering. You don't need a lot but a few drops will do miracles in hydrating the skin while enveloping it with a delicate scent your loved one will not forget! Best is to apply onto damp skin- without forgetting to apply a small amount onto the pulse points (wrists, inner elbow etc). I strongly recommend the Bodhi&Birch body oils (see HERE), the most aromatic body oils I know on the market!

3- Focus on the lips
Dare to try something new for that special evening especially when it comes to lipsticks and colors. At the end of the day, you don't need to have the "perfect "makeup look but a unified complexion and a nice red touch on the lip will be enough to give you that wow factor. RMS beauty offers a range of fabulous lip balms with really interesting shades- the Content shade is a lovely not too dark red shade worth to check!

4- Be yourself
You are the star of the evening, so no matter what, YOU make that evening special, neither your makeup, hairstyle or outfit. Enjoy that special moment, treasure kindness and be thankful to be with your special one.

Wishing everyone a lovely Valentine's day! What are your plans?

Green make-up reviews: RMS Beauty and Dr Haushka

Today's post is a little bit different: I will be talking about make-up, yes! I don't write often about make-up; the simple reason being is that I am quite picky and I have always been struggling with finding green make-up that really suits me. I know, I know. I generally find the textures too heavy or greasy and not matte enough. I may have to experiment a bit more...
The hunt for my "suitable " green make-up is still on the go. And today, I am happy to present a few items that I have picked at LoveLula*. Love or hate? Find out below!

The RMS Beauty "Un"cover-up  (£34.00)
The little concealer shot fame already a while ago amongst all the beauty bloggers and beauty users. I thought I really had to try it, although I remained at first skeptical about its texture but moreover its performance. The blend is mainly made of Coconut oil, Jojoba oil, beeswax and a blend of minerals that gives that light tinted coverage. I find the pot really cute but not really hygienic especially since you have to "work the concealer out" a bit to warm it up and get the right amount on your fingers. Having said that, it doesn't feel too greasy or heavy and really covers well any red marks or small blemishes.  I also use a tiny amount underneath the eyes to lighten and smooth out the areas. As an overall, will I call the magical touch? Not really. I like it but I am not wowed... not sure why.

The RMS Beauty Swift shadow garden Rose GR-19 (£19.00)
I owe this one a review for a long time. If you follow my blog, you have probably seen it being featured in my top 2017 beauty/make-up products! I am a big fan of pressed shadows as I don't have too much time to play around with loose mineral eyeshadows. I have green eyes, so I tend to go for pink/purple tones to highlight the color.
The Garden Rose eyeshadow clearly delivers an awesome result and I am very impressed! But what really impresses me the most is that the shadow applies really easily, by gliding over the lid and stays nicely all day long without even cringing. Made with soft and natural ingredients, the formula is really gentle making it really suitable for sensitive eyes. I will for sure repurchase this one and will be also trying other shades too! The RMS eyeshadow has quite a high price tag but is completely worth the purchase.

The Dr. Haushka eyeshadow Solo Lilac 7 (£13.50)
I have been using this it a bit less regularly than the RMS eyeshadow but still occasionally reach it. Although the color may seem a bit summery, the Lilac shade looks beautiful no matter the seasons we are in. And more importantly, it combines very well green eyes too. As I said, the color is very pretty but appears slightly less "intense" on the eyes, which is totally fine. It has less shimmer than the RMS eyeshadow and provides a more matte finish on the eyelid. I often use the little brush that comes with it and find it quite practical. At the end of the day, the Dr. Hauskha eyeshadow is a pleasant surprise and considering the price, it is definitely a make-up item I would consider repurchasing.

What do you think? What are your favorite eyeshadows?

2 beauty products to rescue irritated & inflamed skin

Life is a rollercoaster. Sometimes the journey is calm and smooth and sometimes, the journey is rougher and more hectic. All these changes can really reflect on the skin if not handled correctly.
With the aim of nurturing, balancing, soothing my skin, I have reached out for 2 calming beauty skincare products that I have picked at Lovelula: the CV Skinlabs Rescue+Relief spray* and the Ren Evercalm ultra comforting mask*. Find out below what I think of them!

CV Skinlabs Rescue+Relief spray ($34.00 for 175ml)

I was really interested in a high performant product that could ease right away any signs of itchiness, discomfort or stress and hoped this spray would become very soon a beauty staple in my routine. And the answer is yes: I might have found a little gem here!

The CV Skinlabs spray has been formulated as an "advance therapy for burned, wounded or irritated skin". My skin is neither burned or wounded. It also does not show any kind of distress at the moment apart from occasional redness. What has particularly attracted me in the Rescue+Relief spray is its awesome formulation. You can find a plethora of soothing and anti-inflammatory ingredients such as Aloe vera, water lily extract, Turmeric root extract, Ginger, Alpha-Bisabolol, Oat kernel extract- to heal and calm any flare-ups.

I mainly use this spray on the face and on the decollete in the evening instead of a toner. The emulsion is light and milky and feels like a nice breeze but I try to not overspray as it could make the skin a tad too sticky.

This is a product that I mainly reach to balance my skin and bring a moment of peace as the serum delivers the ultimate soothing ingredient cocktail.  If you have a sensitive, tired, stressed or troubled skin, I would really recommend this product as the ultimate SOS skin treat!

Ren Evercalm ultra comforting mask (£28.00 for 50ml)

I have been testing topical probiotics a couple months ago (see HERE), and since then, I have really been wanting to incorporate into my beauty routine more products using these new ingredients in their formulation. So I have picked the  Evercalm mask, a creamy and unctuous mask designed to strengthen the skin barrier. It contains a combination of probiotic- the Lactobacillus ferment, emollients- Alpha-glucan oligosaccharides, alongside other skin-loving components such as some nurturing botanical oils and algae extracts.

I wanted a mask that is able to calm my skin and to offer a moment of de-stress while restoring the skin's natural balance and stimulating its own repair mechanisms ... and it really seems working well!

The mask is housed in an airless flacon pump which is hygienic and delivers precisely the amount. needed. I generally leave it a good 20 min -even more- to maximize its effects. My skin is left luminous, soothed, and appears to be less reactive.

If your skin is easily irritated or stressed, this mask really helps to manage and tone down the skin sensitivity. Do no expect too much miracle overnight but this is a great beauty item to reach weekly for a more healthy complexion.

The only downside for me is the small countenance of the product for its price.

What do you think? Which products are your reaching when your skin is unsettled?

My top 4 favorite beauty/make-up products in 2017

After a nice little break from social media over the Christmas holidays and spending some time in France (eating lots of gourmet food and cherishing time with my family), I am finally back with my first post of the year 2018.
I thought It would be a good start to really narrow my love down to the top 4 beauty products I have enjoyed the most in 2017.

1-RMS beauty Swift Shadow Garden 19 (£19.00 unit)
With its unctuous yet powdery texture, the RMS pressed eyeshadow is really a big surprise to me. I am not a fan of greasy texture especially when it comes to makeup and I have to say that I was slightly afraid at first that this one would be too heavy. That was not the case. It is really smooth, applies really easily with a brush or finger (I use the latter) and just stays all day long without cringing. The color Garden 19 is a really nice pink with some shimmering in it. Lovely yet subtle, it gives a nice glow to the eyes. Definitely a good pick!

2- Andalou natural Coconut water firming cleanser (£11.00 for 160ml)
This really good for value cleanser has really won my heart for its outstanding performance. It leaves the skin deliciously smooth, soft, and really glowing. For more details, read my complete review HERE. But in one word: go for it!

3- Kimberly Sayer Ultra-light Moisturiser SPF 30 (£26.50 for 120ml)
I have already mentioned my love for this moisturizer a few times and I can already foresee that this moisturizer will also remain a firm favorite in 2018. Its lightweight and fast-absorbing texture provides enough moisture and its ability to protect the skin from the UV rays is a big plus for me. This is a very much loved and trusted item. I use it everyday and it just delivers exactly what I expect: hydration, protection, and last but not least, a lovely finish.

4- Esse Organic Toner Plus (£46 for 100ml)
Toners are an essential part of my skincare routine: they have so many benefits for the skin that I don't see myself skipping this step in a near future. My eyes got caught by the Toner plus from Esse. It is not just a toner, it features a plethora of incredible ingredients for the skin including probiotics, prebiotics, plant extracts and many more. You can read my detailed review HERE. I love this toner which almost looks like a "liquid" serum. It is expensive but completely worth its price!

What do you think? Any favorites to share with me?
